Homework
Homework will be given on Tuesdays and Thursdays and will be on the Homework Poster for students to copy in their agenda books. Students are responsible for doing this and I will give adequate time for students to write their assignments.

Behavior Policies
Positive Behavior System
Gunning Bedford, Jr. was a signer of the United States’ Constitution. My classroom theme is taking pride in our middle school and the historic figure we embody.
I will use Ms. Johnson’s “Golden Tickets.” These will be given out to students daily based on participation and positive behavior. Students can accumulate tickets for various prizes, or put tickets in the class cup, for weekly drawing for a prize.
Negative Behavior System
Students are responsible for their own behavior and facing the consequences for those behaviors.
I have a three-strike system, similar to a stoplight. All students start on green. If a student gets to red, or three strikes, on a given day, a parent or guardian will be contacted.
Three Check Strike System (followed after a verbal warning):
1: Warning
2: Sentences/Lunch Detention
3: Time-out/Parent Contact/Referral

Absences
If you are absent, you are required to make up the classwork you missed. I have folders for each day of the month in my classroom where missed work can be picked up the following day. I will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have about the work you missed. You will have the equivalent of the amount of days you were absent to make up the missed work.
